The Assembly Hall on Temple Square is a Gothic Revival style building finished in 1882. It was built as place of worship for local Latter-day Saint congregations in Salt Lake City, Utah. The historic building is located on the southwest corner of Temple Square. It was built using stone from the same quarry as the Salt Lake Temple.

One of the most memorable buildings in all of Salt Lake City, the Assembly Hall on Temple Square was built in a gothic style from 1877-1882 using mostly granite discarded from the temple building process. Like the neighboring Tabernacle, it has historically been used both for musical/artistic performances and religious meetings.

Unlike the Temple, the granite for the Assembly Hall was not finished nor polished which gives it a rougher, gray appearance. The center is located on North Temple directly north of the Salt Lake Temple. The Conference Center construction began in 1997 and was completed in 2000. The 1.4-million-square-foot building features multilevel floors, terrace views of the Salt Lake Temple, and a rooftop garden.

Brigham Young proposed building the Salt Lake Assembly Hall in August 1877, just weeks before his death. One reason for his proposal was because the Salt Lake Tabernacle proved too difficult to heat with the available technology.
